Levski started the season in a winning way
The team of Levski Sofia started the new season in the local championship in a winning way. In the first round "The Blues" defeated the newcomers Beroe away by 84-69.
It was an even game from the start and it was like this for the entire first half. Shortly before the end of it Levski took a 6-point lead with two three-pointers and at the break the team was in front 41-37. Levski started the second half playing strong defense and it paid off. The team built a double digit advantage and kept it until the end of the game. The visitors were in control of the game despite allowing Beroe to cut the deficit to 6-7 points at times. In the finals mintues Levski showed its bigger class and won the game.
Marko Marinovic was the top player for the winners with 23 points and 7 assists. Dimitar Dimitrov had a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Chavdar Kostov added 11 points.
For the hosts Reggie Holmes had 24 points while Will Walker added 14 and 8 assists.
