There will be several friendly games of Bulgarian vs Romanian women and girls teams in the northern Bulgarian city of Ruse this week.

The Girls under 18 and under 16 national teams of Romania will travel to Ruse in the next two days to play respectively with Bulgarian women championship contender Dunav Econt (which is also the former team of Romanian Svetlana Dragusin) and the Girls under 18 team of the same club.

The first game is tomorrow, 5 February, at 19.00 EET - Dunav Girls under 18 will play host to Romania U 16 national team, coached by Gheorghe Mandache. Then we go one step up the ladder of the age groups, which is also the main event of the week - Wednesday, 5 February, at 19.00 EET: Dunav Econt women team vs Romania Girls under 18 (vicechampions from the Balkan Games in Giurgiu about a month ago, coached by Madalin Piperea).

There will be excitement for the little ones too. This very interesting week of Bulgarian-Romanian basketball encounters will end with the BC Star Bucharest Girls U-12 team coming to Ruse too, in order to play a couple of friendlies this coming weekend with the 12 year old girls of Dunav. This is the second time that will happen, since a team of the same age group from BC Star, coached by Valentin Bala, travelled to Ruse for friendly games almost exactly a year ago (17 February 2007).
