The event takes place from July 2nd - July 11th, 2010 in the Sporthalle Hamburg. The event website is based on a warm and friendly design appealing to the young target group.

Many interactive features such as the event countdown as well as basketball videos are on offer. In order to meet the needs of the global fan base, the event website is accessible in English and German.

The website was jointly developed by FIBA and the German Basketball Federation.

"We are happy to see the latest addition to our world events getting started", says FIBA Secretary General and IOC member Patrick Baumann. "The newly created U17 FIBA World Championships will further enhance the promotion of young talent across the world. Moreover it will be fun to watch. We are sure the event website will contribute to the success of the event with a young and motivated audience."

"We are very excited that we were able to launch the event website already", explains Event Director Markus Friz. "It is our most important tool to communicate and interact with the fans from all over the world".

The fans will not only have the possibility to find information on the teams, the players, the venue, and the Local Organizing Committee, they can also interact and communicate with other fans by using the rating and commentary function. This option currently works for news and contents regarding the teams and the players.
