The Cup of Bulgaria holders Levski started successfully the challenge to retain the trophy. "The Blues" defeated the hosts of the Cup Finals Yambol 70-62 and will meet Euroins Cherno more in the second semifinal.

Levski started good and never trailed in the first quarter. The team had the lead all the time and was in front 24-17 after ten minutes. In the second quarter Yambol improved the defense and took the lead for first time at 31-29. This though was the only one time in the game the team was in front. Levski restored the advantage and had a 4-point lead before the hosts tied the game at 37 after the first 20 minutes.

After the break "The Blues" started very strong and after 13-2 run in the first five minutes had its first double digit lead. The lead went up to 14 but Yambol scored 5 points to cut it to 9, 54-45 after three quarters. In the last quarter the hosts never really threatened the lead of Levski. The difference was cut to 6 with not long to go but Yambol just couldn't do more and Levski progressed forward.

Aaron Harper was the top player in the game with 20 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds. Gjiorgi Cekovski had 14 points and 9 rebounds while Stefan Georgiev had 12 and 9 for the winners.

Dimitar Anguelov had 20 points for Yambol, but none in the third quarter, when Levski took the big lead. Pavel Marinov added 12 but the rest of their teammates didn't play well today.
