Montana 2003 with first loss of the season

After seven straight wins of the 2010/2011 season the team of Montana 2003 lost its game against the champion in the women’s National basketball league Lukoil Neftochimic. The hosts from Burgas were ahead throughout the whole game and won with the final score 82-66. The team has four wins and 4 losses until now and Montana won 7 games and only lost one.

Lukoil started the game strong and had some advance from the beginning. They registered a 10-0 streak and were ahead 12-2. After the first quarter the result was 21-17 in their favor. Until the end of the first half the hosts made their lead 10 points for 41-31 after 20 minutes on the field.

The champions continued their strong offence after the break and enlarged their advance to 16 points. Montana 2003 scored 7 consecutive points and made its deficit only 9, but after the third period Lukoil was ahead 61-49. The team kept its leadership and had no problems in the last 10 minutes, registering the final score 82-66.

Olena Samburska scored 29 points and added 7 boards for the winners. Maria Zhelyazkova finished with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Vladinka Erak had a double-double – 16 points and 13 boards.

Kameliya Mihalkova scored 19 points for Montana 2003. Agnesa Doychinova registered double-double – 15 points and 11 rebounds and Ivelina Vrancheva finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds.

In the next round Lukoil Neftochimic will play against Slavia in Sofia and Montana 2003 will host Levski.
