BC Balkan Botevgrad has finally managed to find its Head Coach for the next season. Petar Klechkov has reportedly agreed to take over the team after he has left the post at Rilski Sportist. Klechkov stated that he is glad to return to the club he already worked at as Assistant and that he will do his best to repay the faith shown in him by the Management. He stated that the main goal next season will be to try and secure survival in NBL, which he hopes he will be able to achieve. It is expected that new Head Coach will bring in some new faces in the team, but it is still too early to tell who they will be. One thing is known for certain and that is that Klechkov's Assistant for next season will be Mihail Mihailov. This will be Klechkov's first Head Coaching job on the club level in his career.

Petar Klechkov started his coaching career at Balkan in 2006. After two seasons with the team, he went to be Assistant Coach at Rilski Sportist last season. He was with Rilski, who reached National Cup Semifinals as well as Balkan League Title. On the National Team Level, Klechkov worked with Bulgarian Youth sellestions. In 2003 he was in charge of Bulgarian Cadet National Team. In 2008 he took over U16 National Team while this year he worked as Assistant with U18 NT. Recently Klechkov went with U18 National Team to France where they participated at U18 European Championship.
