Seventh straight win for Lukoil

Lukoil Academic recorded seventh win in a row this season. The champions defeated Euroins Cherno more and are the only undefeated team in the National Basketball league. Today in Pravets "The students" passed for first time this season the 100-point mark in a 113-81 victory.

Lukoil had troubles in the first half as the team from Varna played well. The visitors had the lead until 2.30 to play in the first quarter but then a run of 8-0 by the hosts gave them the lead as the first ten minutes ended 32-24. In the second quarter the visitors retook the advantage but Lukoil quickly turned the result and were up 61-54 after the first half.

The game was decided in the third quarter. Cherno more scored the first basket after the break but in the next 5 minutes followed a run of 16-0 for Lukoil and the game was practically decided. Then in the last quarter the hosts managed to increase their lead by more and at the end it was 32 points.

Todor Stoykov was the top scorer for the winners with 20 points in only 14 minutes. Walker Russell added 16 and 8 assists as Marko Djerasimovic was the only player who didn't score for Lukoil.

For the visitors Pavels Veselovs scored 20 points, while the youngsters Tihomir Zhelev and Vasil Kyosev added 14 apiece.

In the next round will take place the derby game of NBL between Lukoil Academic and Levski and "The Blues" will certainly be looking to take revenge for their loss at home a month and a half ago. Cherno more will have to play against Fersped Rabotnicki on Wednesday for the Balkan league and then will travel to Botevgrad to meet Balkan.
