Levski through to the final as expected

The Cup of Bulgaria holders Levski will have the chance to win the trophy for second year in a row after defeating today Euroins Cherno more 95-76 in the second semifinal. The players of Konstantin Papazov used a 14-0 run in the first quarter after which there was no comeback for the team from Varna. In the final on sunday Levski will meet Rilski Sportist who will have its first chance ever to win the Cup.

Euroins Cherno more had a 10-9 lead behind 7 points from Aleksandar Yanev but then the team went ice cold with its shooting and Levski used a 14-0 run to built a big lead and then to have 27-13 advantage after the first quarter. In the second the Cup holders managed to increase the lead. First Cherno more had it down to 12 points and then missed the chance to cut it down further and Levski used an 8-0 run to make the score 44-24 and the difference 20 points. Until the end of the first half it remained pretty much the same as it finished 47-28.

Euroins Cherno more started the second half with players who are a product of the team's youth system as the more expereinced players played bad in the first half. That didn't help the team reduce the deficit but it didn't went up either. The youngsters showed a lot of desire and matched every basket by their opponents. Despite that Levski won the third quarter 32-27 and was up 79-55 before the last ten minutes.

Euroins Cherno more continued to play with the youngsters in the last quarter and with less than 5 minutes to go in the game the difference went below 20 points, 86-68. Then Stanislav Slaveykov scored a three pointer for Levski to restore the lead over 20 and in the final minutes all that was left was to find out the final difference in points. At the end it was 19 points and Levski qualified with ease for the final.

Aaron Harper was the top scorer in the game for the winners with 21 points. Stanislav Slaveykov had a good game with 16 while Donald Cole added 15 points.

For Euroins Cherno more 16 points had Aleksandar Yanev, Simeon Iliev had 12 and 10 scored Vasil Kyosev.
