9 games against Spartak Pleven this season, 9 wins for Lukoil Academic. After 4 wins in the regular season, 2 in the Cup, the students swept the team from Pleven 3-0 in their semifinal series.

Today in Pleven Lukoil Academic didn't had trouble with the local team, beating them 98-78 and  going in the final phase of the playoffs for the seventh time in seven years. The last 5 of those were succesfull for Lukoil, and only a miracle won't let them make it this year.

The final series was pulled back a few days, because both semifinals finished earlier. Lukoil Academic and Balkan will face off in the first game on Tuesday, 13th of May in Pravec. The series is 3 out of 5. Lukoil hasn't lost in Bulgaria in year and a half. Guess who will win?

Today in Balkanstroy, there was some kind of intrigue until the middle of the first quarter, when Spartak lead it 15-13. That was followed by a 15-2 run by Lukoil, and after 10 minutes of play they had a 28-17 lead.

Pero Antic was above all today. The macedonian star played only 26 minutes, but had 27 points (4 three-pointers) and grabbed 8 boards. Captain Todor Stoykov had 17, and Larry O'Bannon and Nenad Canak had 15 each.

For the home side, Sasha Topcov played good with 25 points in just 23 minutes. Hrisimir Dimitrov added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Both coaches gave chance to some of the younger and not so used players.

Spartak Pleven is starting the battle for the bronze medals against Levski on the 15th in Sofia. The second game is on 18th in Pleven, and if needed number 3 will be in Sofia again - 21 May.
