Nar Zanolin: Balkan league has a good future

FIBA Europe General Secretary Nar Zanolin took part at Balkan basketball league`s Board meeting in Sofia.
"I think it`s going to be good competition. People that are involved are serious people, they are professionals. Now with the participation and the cooperation of all the clubs, I think that this League has a good future. I think it has the possibility to expand as well, because the Balkan include number of other countries too, so I think definitely it has a future and also future for extension", said Nar Zanolin.

What is the main thing that people that run the Balkan league should know?
"Just to make sure, that the competition is run properly and fairly and just to work hard to draw whole families in the gym, because then you know what a wonderful sport the basketball should be."

Maybe that`s why you proposed that rule for the home player?
"Yes, I do that, because like I said before I`m Canadian, but I`m European too. The fact is that the club must have a recognition point. And a recognition point could be only a person, a player from that country. That`s why I`m really pushing that, because I believe in European basketball. The main thing is identification and recognition of aspect of having that player on the court."
