American Rob Preston and Bosnian Fuad Memcic are the latest additions to the roster of Spartak Pleven. Earlier today they signed contracts with the club, coach Darin Velikov cofirmed for BulgarianBasket.com.

Preston spent the last couple of seasons playing for Levski, after a college career at Akron. In his first professional season (2006/07) he averaged 10.6 ppg and 6.2 rpg in 31 games. He was selected for the HDI All Star Game in 2007 and took silver in the Cup of Bulgaria with Levski. Last season he had 9.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 1.3 apg in 40 games, but he couldn't play all the way through the palyoffs because of a groin injury.

Memcic (210-C-82) is a Bosnian, who also has Slovenian citizenship. He started playing professionally in 2000/01 with Pivovarna Lasko. With that team he has several seasons of ULEB Cup experience, as well as appearances in the semifinals of the Adriatic League in 2002 and the Slovenian Cup final in 2005. In 2006 he moved on to Austrian club VIVA 49ers Mattersburg for two seasons, while last year he signed in Spain with Desarollo Utebo. There he notched up career highs of 16.8 ppg, 7.7 rpg and 2.5 rpg.

Earlier this summer Spartak Pleven already secured the services of two former players of Cherno More - Vladimir Marinov and Veselin Georgiev. All foreign players, except Sasa Topcov, were let go (i.e -  Vladimir Jojic, Melvin Abrams, Aleksandar Kalanj, Milos Zivanovic and Barac Bozo). All other players will stay at the club for the upcoming season.

Spartak Pleven start preseason training next Monday at 6 PM.
