Cherno More won a thriller against Spartak

Cherno More is getting in good form with new coach

Euroins Cherno More defeated the visiting Spartak Pleven after a good basketball game in "Hristo Borisov" hall in Varna. In a very important match for both teams the hosts won 87-76.

From the beginning both teams played focused and for every ball. After very good plays both on offense and defense from both teams at the end of the first quarter the score was 23-22.

The pressure continued to be high in the second quarter. After a run by Cherno More, the team managed to pull ahead but Spartak responded quickly. Very good for the visitors played Hrisimir Dimitrov and Iliya Stankov as their team had a 42-39 lead at the break.

After the halftime interval both teams continued to look for the win. There was a new tie at 48 points and later at 57 with three minutes to go in the third quarter. The followed a new exchange of baskets as the visitors took a 63-62 lead after 30 minutes.

In the last quarter Spartak went ahead but thanks to Tsenov and Santos the hosts came right back in to the game. In the final minutes of the game McIntosh and Dimitrov were the main figures for their own teams. At the very end of the game the hosts managed to make their biggest run and broke their opponents to win this game. In total there were 9 ties in this game and 34 lead changes.

Corey McIntosh was the top scorer for the hosts with 17 points adding also 6 assists and 4 rebounds. Simeon Tsenov finished with 14 points and 9 rebounds while Dusan Koutsoupoulus had 9 and 7. Very good played the yougster Vasil Kyosev who for only 13 minutes finished with 10 points and 4 rebounds.

For Spartak best player was Hrisimir Dimitrov with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Vladimir Marinov had 15 points and 7 assists against his former team.
