Lukoil Academic with a win in front of the new head coach

Lukoil Academic came back to wining ways in NBL today after the team defeated Chernomorets in Pravets 88-82. The team was coached today by Miroslav Ralchev but earlier it was announced that the new head coach would be Jovica Arsic.

Lukoil had the lead for most of the game, except for a few moments in the middle of the first quarter. From then on the champions did pull away and in the first minutes of the fourth quarter had a 21-point lead. Then Chernomorets went to make first a 12-0 run that was stopped by Riste Stefanov's basket, but then the visitors scored the next 7 points and cut the deficit to 4 points. Unfortunately for them they couldn't do more and complete the comeback and Lukoil won.

Riste Stefanov had very good game for the winners and finished with 32 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Ernest Brown added 15 points and 7 rebounds while Branko Mirkovic 13 points.

Very good for the visitors played Martin Durchev who scored 28 points. Atanas Penev added 18 and Plamen Aleksiev 13 and 10 assists.

Now both teams head on to a Christmas brake and will play again on January 9th as Lukoil will play in Yambol while Chernomorets will host Cherno more.
