Lubo Minchev, head coach of Beroe: Our participation in BIBL is a step forward

The team of Beroe will make its debut in EUROHOLD Balkan League in the upcoming season. Yesterday they started preparation for it and fortunately for head coach Lubomir Minchev, he has all of his players for this first training session. Here is what Minchev had to say after the first practice:

"Unlike last year, this time we have our full roster in the first practice. We are not yey ready with our full schedule for the preparation but we′ll be in the next few days.

It′s still to early to comment about any expectations for the season. The championship is long and things can change.

For me our participation in EUROHOLD Balkan League is something positive, not only for our team but also for basketball community in Stara Zagora. Our participation in this tournament will provoce more interest towards this game in the city. This is the first time Beroe is a part of international competition and I thing this is a step forward.

This season we are going to have more games, more traveling. This is why we needed to have a deeper roster and to start preparation with all the players. For me it′s a positive thing to have two games per week. This leads to more games generally and more interest for the team."
