Juniors (U 18) attacking the 5th place
Bulgarian Juniors (U 18) national team beat their coevals from Romania with 74-64 at the Southeastern Games in Thessaloniki. Thus, the players of head coach Yulian Aladzhov will attack the 5th place tomorrow against the winner of the other fight between Albania and Macedonia.
Our guys finished on 3rd place in preliminary group A, registering only one win over Albania. There they lost from Turkey and Montenegro and logically went to play in the second part of the scheme. However, that did not make them less motivated. On the contrary, they came out highly convinced in their skills and took the leadership from the same beginning of the game, as not even for a while let their opponents think of something more.
Great performance acted the young talent from Varna – Vasil Kyosev who scored the amasing 27 points. His teammates Zhelev (20 points) and Yanev (17 points) also did great job.
For the team of Romania, Gutoia finished with 18 points, while Orbeanou scored 17 and Bercean added 15 points.
Tonight the semi-final games will also take place. In the first one, Turkey overplayed the hosts from Greece by 1 in a real battle – 77-76 and therefore assured their participation at the final. The other fight opposes the teams of Montenegro and Croatia.
