Lukoil Academic smashed CSKA with 58 points

CSKA scored the first 2 points, and after 1:47 they were leading against Lukoil Academic 6-5 in Pravec. That was just the begining, and if anybody told you that Lukoil will take the game with 58 points difference (110-52) nobody would believe.

After CSKA's good games lately, this game was expected with interest, and also that was a replay of the final of last year's playoffs.

After 5-6 for CSKA in the second minute, there was a run of 30-5 until the end of the first 10 minutes (35-11). The home side made something unbelieveable, as they did not miss a single shot - 8/8 for 2 points, 4/4 for 3 points. In the second period Lukoil Academic started 13 to nothing, and after 13 minutes of play the score was 48-11, and 5 minutes before halftime the difference was 39 points - 54-15. Anyway Zeljko Lukajic's players slowed down, and after 20 minutes the difference was "only" 36 points - 64-28.

That was the Students' biggest victory this year. They won against Artland Dragons with 44 points (109-65) and against Dunav 2007 with 42 (108-66).

Pero Antic scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double this season in Bulgaria. He added 7 assists for his ranking 40, and he's the best player of this first round of A-1's second phase. Tencho Banev had some terrific dunks, finishing with 20 points and 6 boards.

Willie Deane had a double-double too - 14 points and 10 assists, and Todor Stoykov showed good shape with 14 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Larry O'Bannon was great off the bench, as for 21 minutes he scored 18 points and had 4 rebounds.

For CSKA Boyko Mladenov wasn't able to score against his former team. Lavell Payne had 20 points, and Krum Doychinov had a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Hristo Nikolov and Mike Henderson were disappointing, scoring only 4 and 2 points.
