With one day to go to the start of action in Euroleague Top 16, Zalgiris Kaunas are one of the clubs making active changes to their rosters. Today the Lithuanians waived center Michael Bradley, only days after acquiring another player on the same position - Mamadou N'Diaye.
The contract of American Bradley (208, 28) was terminated by mutual agreement. The writing was on the wall for him after the club added N'Diaye late last week. Bradley was a mid-season addition, but missed time with injuries and averaged 7 points and 4.9 rebounds in seven games with the Lithuanian champion.
Veteran big man Mamadou N'Diaye from Senegal is Zalgiris Kaunas' first-ever African player. N'Diaye (212, 32) had played the first half of this season with Panellinios of Greece, for whom he averaged 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in eight ULEB Cup games. His blocked shot average ranked N'Diaye 15th in the ULEB Cup regular season. He was also the Week 2 MVP after shooting perfectly for 26 points to go with 7 rebounds and 2 blocks despite a loss at Red Star in Belgrade. Before coming to Greece to join PAOK in 2005, N'Diaye had spent most of the previous five seasons playing in the NBA for Toronto, Dallas, Atlanta and the Los Angeles Clippers.
