The President of BC Levski Yulia Boyanova learned today that her team was chosen to be one of the Bulgarian participants in newly formed Balkan League.
"We are not only satisfied but we are also full of joy and happiness" said she for Gong.bg.
Boyanova is convinced that Levski will go out absolutely prepared for the season in the regional competition. "We'll be ready for our return to the European scene. The goal that we set ourselves a few years ago, to start building a team good enough to go out and play in Europe and now I think it's time has come. There we'll see whether the boys can or cannot, have they learned how to play this basketball and will be able to meet a serious opponents" explained she.
According to Boyanova this league is one very good decision: "The Balkan League came as a response to the emptyness for this kind of teams who doesn't have place or are not of the level of ULEB Cup or the Euroleague but need European competitions. For me this is a great hit. I still don't have any information about the other teams but probably will be those who have finished after the teams playing in Euroleague and the Uleb Cup and by no means they will be of low level."
Yulia Boyanova said also that for sure the plans for new players will be changed because of the participation in Balkan League. "Of course things will change now. But we are leaving this to the coaching staff. We have not yet discussed who will be our new head coach and about the expiring contracts of some of our players. Until 20th of June we'll discuss this and practically what will happen with the team" said Boyanova and added with happiness: "The budget for next season is highly attractive".
