Sensational win for Rilski
The hero from the game against Mega Hypo Leasing Alexander Gruev who sealed the win with a buzzer-beating three-pointer scored only 2 points today. A few years ago if we knew that the main figure on the team will score only one basket we would know how the game would end. Now things look different. They have a dousin of players who could decide games. Today those were Dragoslav Papic and Travis Peterson. They combined for 47 points out of the total 84.
The begining was amazing for Spartak, as they let in only 11 points in the first quarter. Roles changed in the second period and Samokov lead it 38-34 at halftime.
In the second half Rilski got their lead up to 14 points (54-40), but a 17-2 run by Spartak got them back ahead in the end of the third. Until the end both teams played equally, but in the closing minutes the guest team was luckier and got the win.
Peterson had a double-double - 22 points and 10 rebounds, as he also scored 3 out of 5 three-point attempts.
Dragoslav Papic had the most points, as he only missed one attempt for 2 points to finish with 25. He added 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Ivan Lilov and Branko Mirkovic finished with 9 points each.
For the home side Rob Preston scored 17 points and had 7 boards, while Hrisimir Dimitrov added 16. Iliya Stankov stringed 5 three-pointers to finish with 15 points.
