Belberov scored for another thrilling win for Rilski Sportist over Mega Hypo Leasing

Leven Belberov scored the last basket with 1.7 seconds left in the game between Rilski Sportist and Mega Hypo Leasing but that was enough for a new win by a single point for his team against the same squad, this time in Belgrade.

While national football team of Bulgaria looking bad at the soccer stadium in Belgrade, basketball team of Rilski Sportist recorded first win away in Eurohold Balkan league against Mega Hypo Leasing 85-84. Only month and a half ago a three-pointer at the buzzer by Aleksandar Gruev defeated the same opponent in Samokov in the first ever game of the regional league. Today the "killer" became Leven Belberov and now is certain that Rilski Sportist is finishing the season with two wins against the Serbian outfit.

This win is giving advantage for Rilski Sportist in eventual tie with Mega Hypo Leasing in the final standings of this group. The win in Belgrade is also very big for the Samokov basketball because not very often Bulgarian teams are winning in Serbia. The success is even more sweet for Rilski Sportist because it was reached without two of the main players. Aleksandar Gruev is still recovering from a hand injuri while yesterday during the practise Ivan Lilov strained his ankle and he didn`t enter the game today.

The American center of the team Travis Peterson again showed he is in great form and finished with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Very good played also the Serbians in the team - Branko Mirkovic finished with 17 points and 6 assists while Dragoslav Papic scored 11. One of his best games so far played Bogdan Boev. He finished the game with three three-pointers for 15 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. Asen Saralyiski scored important baskets in the third quarter when his team turned the game over and went ahead. He finished with 6.

Dusan Katnic was the top scorer for the hosts with 17 points, while Chris Shlatter added 16.

In the next two games the players of Macedonian coach Aleksandar Todorov are hosting Fersped Rabotnicki and Dinamo Bucharest and two wins will almost certainly secure high place in the standings and better opponent in the playoffs in Eurohold Balkan league.
