Rilski Sportist defeated Balkan 75-67 in the most intriguing game of the Bulgarian Cup quarterfinals. Except the game between Spartak Pleven and Euroins Cherno More this was the other most anticipatd one. Against each other stood the team that has made a lot of progress so far this season - Rilski Sportist and Balkan - a team that has proved to be a dominating force in the second division.
 
In this game of truth, as it was called by fans from both cities, the players played with great determination and fought until the final moments. There was a lot of talking from both sets of fans before the game and there was a real invasion in the hall and a lot of support for both teams.
 
Dragoslav Papic was the best scorer for Rilski Sportist with 20 points, Travis Petereson added 12 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Ivan Lilov punished his former teammates with total of 17 points (3 three pointers). Another Serbian player in the team from Samokov Branko Mirkovic played full game and ended with 5 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds.
 
Jordan Bozov finished with 20 points for the team from Botevgrad.
 
However Rilski Sportist qualified for the semifinal where will meet a well known opponent in Levski. Both teams have had a numerous meeting so far this season in the championship and in the Balkan league. This game for the Cup of Bulgaria will not be an exception and will see two teams willing to do everything in order to reach the final. The game will be at 17.30 in "Balkanstroy" hall in Pleven.
