Rilski sportist won the Cup title for the first time in their history

Rilski sportist won the Cup of Bulgaria for the first time in the club`s history. In the intriguing final the team of Rosen Barchovski overcame with 90-80 the Bulgarian champion Lukoil Academik, who lost the Cup for the second consecutive year. In 2009 Rileco won Balkan league and a year later played final for the cup, but didn`t have Cup trophy in its history.

The team from Samokov played very hard at the second falf of the game with more motivation and willing for win. They outscored the opponent with strong defence.

Lukoil Akademik started the game better with 7-2 run. Then Pavlin Ivanov scored 8 consecutive points to save the digit. At the end of the first quarter Dimitar Dimitrov scored a triple for three point lead for the champs. At the half Rilski sportist lost with 7 points. Two minutes after the second half Rileco limited Lukoil to just 1 point.

Tristan Carey led the Rileco with 7-0. After 30 minutes the team of Rosen Barchovski grabbed an 8 point lead. Lukoil Akademik cut the deficit at 4 points, but Gugino scored a triple and increased to 8 again. 5.38 minutes to the end Rileco had double digit, which saved to the end of the game and earned the Cup.

Frank Turner finished the game with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Tony Gugino scored 20 and Tristan Carey addes 16 points and 8 rebounds.

Pavlin Ivanov and Donell Taylor led Lukoil Akademik in the loss with 15 points each.
