The “Policemen” defeated Slavia

Bulgarian Second West A-2 was opened today with a game between the teams of Slavia and Spartak MVR. In “Triaditsa” Hall in Sofia, the hosts Slavia were defeated by the symbolic guests from Spartak MVR with 69-81.
The game started good for the players of Borislav Arsov and they took the leadershio from the same beginning. Thus until the end, they did not let their younger and less experienced opponents to tie the result. The only thing the “whites” managed to do was to decrease the advantage to 4 points, 4 minutes to go. From then on, nothing more serious happened.
For Slavia, under their abilities acted the guards Boyko Pangarov and Vasil Hristov. Even though, their teammate Yordan Yankov scored 21 points. Lyubomir Zhechev also performed excellent – 15 points and 11 rebounds. Dimitar Velev added 8 points and 7 rebounds.
For Spartak MVR, as usual Mihail Kapitanov was more than brilliant. He finished with 29 points and 10 assists. Ivaylo Vasilev made 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Petyo Ivanov made also 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
After the game, the head coach of Slavia Daniel Dimitrov shared that his team has the opportunity to have a true practice with all the guys only once a week, because most of them are studying. This was his explanation for the dissatisfying performance at the same start of the championship. He added that he expect Toma Fikoff and Zhivko Stoyanov to join the team next week as it became clear they will play with a double license for CSKA Interlogic and Slavia.
Tomorrow at 17:00 is the second game from the western group. “Festivalna” Hall in Vidin will welcome the team of Sportist Svoge.
