CSKA defeated Spartak Pleven

CSKA Interlogic reached their fourth success in the this year’s edition of the Bulgarian national championship. “The Reds” defeated with 76-61 Spartak Pleven in Sofia.
The game started very tied and the result at the end of the first quarter was 20-20. The second period happened to be extremely weak for the guest from Pleven. There was an eight-minute period when they could not score a single point, while their opponents CSKA grabbed that opportunity and made 15 points in a row and thus went to the dressing room on the half time with 10 points advance – 35-25.
The team of Spartak Pleven demonstrated it is a class team in the third quarter. After a few mistakes by the players of Rosen Barchovski, Spartak tied the result. Thus started the last period, but the guests repeated the same stupid errors in offence and defense. This allowed the hosts to took a solid advantage due to their successful shots. At the same end after some good fast breaks the advantage grew up to 15 points.
Lavell Payne played a very good game and was the main figure that contributed for the win of CSKA. He ended with 26 points and 17 rebounds. Lyudmil Hadjisotirov added 15 points and Michael Henderson – 14.
For the guests from Spartak Pleven, only Hrisimir Dimitrov performed as usual and scored 18 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and gave 6 assists. From the rest of the team, only the Serbian Sasha Topcov could pass the ten-point border with his 16 points.
