Bulgarian women U20 national team lost its opening game at Eurobasket 2010, division A. The young Bulgarian girls were beaten by France 51-73.

Bulgaria started good the game and was equal to its opponent for the first four and a half minutes as the score was 10-10. Then France went on a 12-0 run and won the first quarter 24-12. In the second quarter the french team pulled away by 16 points. However the Bulgarians finished strong the first half and were only 9 down, 29-38.

France started the second half on a 14-0 run and game was decided early in to the third quarter. Until the end of it the difference stayed in the range of 20 points as it finished 61-40. France started the last quarter on a 9-2 run to make the advantage 28 points. Until the end of the game Bulgaria managed to cut some of the deficit, but only 6 points if at and France eventually won by 22.

Violina Kocheva was the top scorer for Bulgaria with 11 points, while Veronika Dzhikova and Antonia Zagorova added 8 apiece. For the winners Laurie Datchy finished with 16 points and Diandra Tchatchouang scored 13.
