Boyko Mladenov will play in Cyprus next season. The former Lukoil Academic center signed with Apollon Limassol a one year contract.
Mladenov was born on March 2, 1981 in Blagoevgrad. As a junior he played in Balkan Botevgrad. Then aged 17 he went to Partizan Belgrade. There he stayed two years and in October 2000 moved to Levski. With The Blues he played four season becoming one time champion and two times cup winner. In 2003 he tested with Sacramento Kings but wasn't approved and returned to Bulgaria to make his best season with Levski averaging 13 points per game. Then in 2004 he moved to Lukoil Academic where he spent three season winning three titles and two national cups. Last season wasn't very successfull for him as the didn't receive much playing time. For 24 games in Bulgarian championship he averaged only 11.5 minutes with 5.96 points and 2.79 rebounds.
Boyko Mladenov's new team finished 5th last regular season in Cyprus. Apollon performed very well in FIBA Eurocup Challenge where went out in the semifinal stage beaten by russian team Samara. The team  won the Cyprus cup back in 2002. Apollon plays the home games in Apollon Hall that is for 1750 spectators.
