American on try out in Samokov

From today there is an American on try out in Rilski Sportist. Alphonso Pugh landed in Sofia and was taken to Samokov where he will stay for a few days. Then the coach and the board of the team will decide whether to keep him in the team.
Pugh was born on July 31st, 1984. He is 198 cm tall and plays the forward position, the position at which Rilski Sportist is looking for a player. He spent his career in NCAA in University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. For his four years there he had pretty good showings and was one of the top players in the team. His best season was 2005-2006 when he averaged 11.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists. In his first season there in 2003 he was chosen in Southern Conference All-Freshman team.
23-year old Pugh will make today his first practice. There is a possibility for a friendly game to be arranged by the board of the team so they can evaluate the player's qualities in playing situation.
