Donta Smith managed 29 points for Lukoil Academic

Champion of Bulgaria Lukoil Academic defeated 87-81 in a friendly game greek Aris TT Bank. Both teams have history together as they have met a lot of times in last years.
Lukoil Academic dominated the whole game over their Euroleague team opposition and deservedly won it.
Aris did look tired though after the team came back from pre-season camp in Italy. New head coach of the team Gordon Herbert played for most of the time with the reserve squad.
Lukoil Academic led for all of the game and even the difference was up to 21 points in the third quarter. The visitors came close to two points only once during the first half but that was the lowest margin in the game.
In the last quarter Herbert put in play only greek players and the margin went down in the end.
The hosts head coach Zeljko Lukaic played all his players except youngster Dimitar Philipov.
Very strong game had Donta Smith who finished with 29 points, macedonian international Pero Antic added double-double 15 points and 12 rebounds and the captain Todor Stoykov finished with 14 points in only 23 minutes on the court. Chavdar Kostov didn't take part in this game because he is recovering from an injury.
For the visitors the players from the starting line-up scored only 13 points while from the reserves good impression made Simonas Serapinas with 17 points and Lazaros Agadakos with 16.
The referees called 32 fouls on the visitors and that reflected on the high number of free throws that the home team had - 42.
The two teams will play one more game tomorrow, this time in Sofia in Universiada Hall.
