Convincing triumph for Dunav Econt

The team of Dunav Econt won convincingly the tournament in the Romanian city Aleksandria. This is the second competition of their preseason preparation where the Bulgarian team took the first place. The girls from Ruse are preparing for the beginning of the National Championship as well as for the FIBA Eurocup tournament.

In their today’s game the players of head coach Stefan Stefanov beat the hosts from Teleorman Aleksandria with 24 points difference – 91-67. There are 4 American players in the team of Aleksandria and only one of them did not appear on the court. However, Dunav Econt crushed their opponents as after the first half they had already taken the advantage and went to the locker room with 20 points advance (54-34). At that moment the winner of the tournament became clear.
Stefanov gave chance to all his players and they performed great. Daniela Peteva was the one who scored most – 19 points, while Diana Naydenova and Roksana Yordanova added 17 points each. Our girls showed very good per cent from the 3-point-line as they succeeded in 9 of their attempts. For Teleorman Aleksandria, Alsha Hodzhis finished with 14 points and her teammate Anka Shiposh added 13 points.In the final standings of the tournament Dunav Econt is on the first place and the hosts from Aleksandria ended second. Rapid Bucharest took the third position, while Olympia went on the bottom of the chart. Thus, before the start of the championship, Dunav already has in its collection 2 trophies – from the events in Ruse and Aleksandria.
