The team of Sliven is on the edge of taking another American player in their lines – the 194-sentimetres-tall guard Jeremaya Boswell. Lawrence Sharrett who is a former player of Levski and Yambol has already showн his skills, being the main reason the guys from the city of the blue stones qualified for the Men’s A-1 a week ago at the qualifying tournament in Pravets. There, Sharrett scored an average of 13 points and gabbed 4 rebounds per game.
Just like Larry, Boswell is also a participant at “Athletes in action”. During the last season he spent some time in the Holland Omniworld. Before that he graduated Columbia University and played in the first division of NCAA. His last year at the university he made an average of 9,6 points and 3,0 rebounds per game. His per cent from the 3-point-line was the best in the team – 50 %.Boswell celebrated his 25th birthday last Saturday and his position on the court is shooting guard.
The good news for the head coach of Sliven Sabin Marinov is that he already has one more guard as a probable choice – Svetlin Ivanov who has just come back from the USA. He is not expected to play today in the first home game from the new season against Dunav 2007, but he will start practicing with the team and will return on the court as soon as possible.
