Rilski Sportist "threw" the bomb
After the dramatic lost last Wednesday by 1 at home, the team of Rilski Sportist showed that they are a really good team and surprised Levski here in Sofia. The success with 88-86 is the first one for "Riletso" in Sofia against Levski. In the last few seasons in a couple of games, the players of Petko Delev were on the edge of doing it, but did not have luck. This time they succeeded winning the game by 2 points.
The game was like a real war and the guests were leading most of the time. The result was tied about 2 minutes to go. We can say that Rilski Sportist had a little more chance as they scored in the most important moments, while their opponents from Levski missed a few free throws. It was 88-85 on the scoreboard in favour of the guests with 1 second left on the clock when Stanislav Slaveykov was awarded 2 free throws. He scored the first one, but missed the second on purpose with the idea any of his teammates to grab the ball and made a tap-in. This did not happen and Rilski Sportist “threw the bomb” of the second round defeating Levski in front of their fans.
This fabulous victory will be a so deserved present for the head coach of the guests Petko Delev who will celebrate his name day tomorrow.
Zlatin Georgiev was the best scorer of the game, scoring 26 points (3 three-pointers), while his teammate Stanislav Slaveikov made a double-double – 21 points and 10 rebounds.
After the great start against Yambol in the middle of the week, today Levski had problems with the shooting from the 3-point-line (5/21 – 24 %) and from the free-throw line as well – 15/25, 60 %.
For Rilski Sportist only Momchil Petrov could not reach the two-digit-border. Ilko Nanev scored 21 points. Miko Golubovic added 18 points and the other Serbian in the team Branko Mirkovic finished with 17 points.
Next Wednesday Levski faces Pleven as guests, while Rilski Sportist will host Dunav 2007 in Samokov.
