Ventspils head coach Gasper Okorn:
"Honestly, I am very disappointed and I do not know actually the reason for our loss today. Maybe after a day or so I will be able to draw some conclusions. First of all, Lukoil showed a really great quality of game today. They were better throughout the game from the first to the last minute. They were simply better, today we had no chances against them. This was a totally different game in comparison to the one we played in Sofia. We were preparing, we were improving our game, but nothing of it was shown on the court. My players did not feel the game. After the first two minutes I already knew that we were in big trouble, the first quarter was more or less OK, but afterwards it was a mess. Today we played only with one player, both on defense and offense I saw only Baxter! I don't know, maybe they were scared, maybe burned, tried too hard... I really don’t know. The final result shows the quality of the game, we made 16 turnovers, missed open shots, I won't even mention the shooting percentage from the free-throw line. And on the home court, you can’t beat a team like Lukoil, if you play like that. Akingbala, Vitols, Gabrans, Helmanis who are supposed to be our leaders were lost in this game. I don't know why. My congratulations to Lukoil and I would like to thank our fans who filled the gym fully and showed a great spirit."
