Rilski Sportist again defeated CSKA

Some will say surprise but for others a win for Rilski Sportist against CSKA is now a normal thing. The team from Samokov defeated The Reds for second straight time in Sofia and third straight time this season. Today the visitors won by a single points, 92-91.

The players of Rilski Sportist showed very good shooting from 3-point range in the last quarter and not only managed to come back after losing but even to win this game. The hosts lead for most of the time but let their visitors to come away with the win.

Rilski Sportist started the game with 8-0 run but CSKA managed to win the first quarter 23-19. After an even second quarter the score was 40-39 for the hosts.

The third quarter was mostly for CSKA who played better and managed to take a big lead. In the beginning of the last quarter Miko Golubovic fouled out and minutes after him Asen Saraliyski as well as that meant troubles at center position for the visitors. They though managed to answer with great 3-point shooting and stayed close in the game. CSKA were leading 91-90 but then Hadjisotirov missed two free throws. Then Mirkovic was fouled with 5 seconds to go and after scoring his free throws managed to give the win for Rilski Sporist.

Santos Martinez was above all in the game as he was 100% from the floor and finished with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Mirkovic scored 17 and Marinov was 4/4 from the 3-point line to finish with 12, such as Aleksandar Gruev.

For CSKA Lavell Payne finished with 22 as Hadjisotirov and Davidov ended up with 19 and 14 respectively.
