Deon Thomas: Pini is a great person as well as a coach

Two of the ex-players of CSKA Sofia last season – Deon Thomas and Adrian Pledger are now in the Israeli championship. 37-years old Thomas plays fro Maccabi Haifa, while Pledger wears Ironi Nahariya’s jersey. But have good memories for their stay in Bulgaria last year and both think it’s a great move of Bulgarian federation to sign with famous coach Pini Gershon for boss of the national team.
What’s more Deon Thomas has won the Euroleague title together with the head coach Pini Gershon in Maccabi Tel Aviv.

“I think that Pini is a great person as well as a coach. He gave me an opportunity to be a part of a great team in Macabbi Tel Aviv. I think he will be a great addition for the national team of Bulgaria. With his name i believe that he will be able to bring a lot of credibility to Bulgarian basketball”, said the ex-player of CSKA Sofia.

His ex-teammate Adrian Pledger added: “Pini will have a huge impact in Bulgarian basketball. To have one of the greatest coaches in Europe says a lot. I think this is great for Bulgaria. He’s well known, he knows a lot about basketball and he has big success.”
