The Board of FIBA Europe aproved the establisment of Balkan League

The board of FIBA Europe aproved the establishment of Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL). In the next few days FIBA Europe will send an official letter to the office of Balkan League in Sofia regarding their approvement.
Delegates from 46 FIBA Europe member countries attended the General Assembly at the town of St. Julian's in Malta.
Ingo Weiss, the president of the German Basketball Federation has been elected as a new member of the Board of FIBA Europe.
The next meeting of the BIBL Board will be on 6-7 June 2008 in Sofia, Bulgaria, when the draw for the upcoming season will take place. It's expected Mr. Nar Zanolin (Secretary General of FIBA Europe) and Mr. Kosta Iliev (Sports Director of FIBA Europe) to attend the event.
As we already reported, the names of the clubs to participate in the BIBL season 2008/09 will be proposed by the federations of Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Greece and Macedonia up on June 1, 2008 at the latest.
