Young American Travis Peterson (208-C-85) is the next new addition to the squad of Rilski Sportist Samokov. Three other new players already joined the club last week - Bulgarians Bogdan Boev (196-G-82) and Ivan Nikolov (190-G-81), as well as Serb Dragoslav Papic (205-C/F-87).

Peterson gaduated from Samford University this year. For the Bulldogs he averaged 13.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists during the 2007-08 campaign. Thus Peterson held the nationally distinguished honor of being the only center in the country to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists per game. He also paced the Bulldogs with 41 blocks last season.

Peterson arrived in Bulgaria this morning and will soon start training with his new teammates.

Meanwhile, Rilski Sportist is waiting for news from the board of the Balkan League (BIBL), since the club from Samokov might become the third Bulgarian participant in the inaugural season of the competition. Rilski Sportist has good chances to fill the void, left by Macedonians Strumica 2005, who dropped out.
