After only taking a narrow win in Ruse two days ago today Euroins Cherno More had no problems winning the second leg game in Varna, from the Men Cup of Bulgaria Preliminary Round. Today they defeated Dunav 2007 by 32 points - 89-57 - and reached the quarterfinals where they will meet Spartak Pleven in perhaps the most interesting quarterfinal.

The team of Dunav 2007 didn't look bad at all in Varna playing very good basketball for most of the game time.

Euroins Cherno More started more focused and after 10 minutes were ahead 26-10. Then the visitors managed to "wake up" and took the second quarter 17-18. Of course that didn't help them much as they were down 43-28 at the break.

In the 26th minute the team from Ruse cut its deficit down to just 8 points (50-42), but after the hosts made a 16-4 run to finish the quarter they went ahead by 20 points. The difference remained the same for the first 7 minutes of the final quarter. But then a 15-4 run to finish the game allowed the hosts to increase their advantage to 32 points.

Zeljko Bojovic had a very good game and finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists without a turnover. Atila Santos also played well with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Dusan Jelic-Koutsopoulos made his debut for the Varna team - in 15 minutes of action he finished with 9 points and 3 rebounds. Corey McIntosh continued with his recent bad performances as he ended up with only 5 points.

For Dunav 2007 Kaloyan Kostov scored 15 points as Nikolay Gospodinov finished with 11. This game was the last test for Euroins Cherno More before the Eurohold Balkan League quarterfinal place decider away at Cuadripol Brasov on Wednesday. The Bulgarian team needs to win in order to qualify for next round.
