A 25-0 run at the end of the first and during the most of the second quarter decided the outcome of the second game between Lukoil Academic and Cherno More in the Finals of the National Basketball League. At the end "the students" won 93-74 and are now only a win away from 7th straight title in Bulgaria. The third match is on Tuesday in Varna and the home team will have to win in order to stay in the game. This is something that has happened only once in the last 41 games against Lukoil Academic.

The game started good for the visitors who had a 9-16 lead. Lukoil then managed to balance the game and take the lead. Nikolay Kolev tied the game at 23 with 28 seconds to play but this was the last basket for his team for the next 8 minutes. Willie Deane then scored to give his team 25-23 lead after the first quarter. Then in the second for 7 minutes and 12 seconds the visitors didn't score and the score went to 48-23. Corey McIntosh broke the run but still Lukoil had a big lead at the break - 53-30.

In the middle of the third quarter the advantage for Lukoil Academic was 25 points but then the visitors sort of woke up for a few minutes and made a 10-0 run for 67-52 in the 27th minute. After 30 minutes of play Lukoil Academic still had very big lead - 78-60.
The last quarter was only to settle the final score and the difference in points as the winner was already know. So by this win Lukoil Academic now has a 2-0 lead in the series and is a win away from another title.

Willie Deane was above all with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Leemire Goldwire had 20 points, including 5 three-pointers from 6 attempts. After the fantastic Game 1 Riste Stefanov had today he scored 12 points and Chavdar Kostov added 11 and 6 rebounds in 21 minutes.
McIntosh led the visitors with 24 ponits and 7 rebounds. Atila Santos scored 15 while Jelic-Koutsoupoulos added 14.

Now this matchup is moving to Varna for one or two games. At the moment it looks like that Lukoil Academic has the edge to close out the series in the first game but it remains to be seen whether the team from Varna may be able to make surprise.
