Julian Radionov denies signing with Chernomorec
Few days ago, reports in various Bulgarian media came out and stated that Julian Radionov (188-G-79) is set to sign with Chernomorets Burgas. Now the player himself came out to categorically deny such reports. Bulgarian portal Gong.bg recently conducted the interview with the player regarding the alleged transfer. Radionov took the opportunity to deny that he has signed with Chernomorets Burgas and that currently he is a free agent. His contract with Chenro More has expired, and according to the player, he still did not receive an offer from any Bulgarian club. Radoinov went on to state that he has negotiated with Cherno More about extension but nothing concrete was agreed. He also stated that he would like to finish his career at his hometown Burgas but nothing is a done deal yet neither with Cherno More nor with Chernomorets Burgas.
Julian Radionov started his career with Spartak Pleven but has played for host of clubs in Bulgaria throughout his career. Among teams he played for are Cherno Mora, Akademik Sofia, Lukoil Akademik and BC Levski. He has won several trophies in his career including 3 Bulgarian Cups he has won in 2000 with Chenro More and in 2002 and 2004 with Lukoil Akademik. With Lukoil, Radoinov has also won 3 consecutive National titles from 2003-2005. Last season, Radoinov started with BC Levski but in October of 2008 he moved to Cherno More. In 28 league games, he averaged 5.8 points and 1.8 rebounds while shooting 55.4% for two. He has helped his team, make it to the Playoff Finals where they lost to Lukoil Akademik. Radoinov was also a member of Bulgaria National Team from 1999-2008. He participated at European Championship in Belgrade in 2005. He was also member of National
Team which participated in qualifications for Eurobasket 2009 but did not enter into the game.
