Lukoil Neftochimic lost for the first time this year but will stay on top ahead of the Women Playoffs 2007. Their main opponent CSKA beat them 69-65 but that wasn’t enough as they lost the first game in Bourgas by 12 points (67-79). There is three more games left as Lukoil Neftochimic will not have any trouble to keep the first place. There is a big gap between the first two and other teams in Women First A-1. That means the team of Petko Marinov will have home court advantage in eventual final between those teams. Recently Lukoil Neftochimic lost from CSKA in the final of Cup of Bulgaria by big margin, 30 points (72-102). However in this game they stay focused until the very end and got what they wanted despite the loss. Brankica Hadzovic scored 19 points for CSKA but only two other players were in double figures – Latasha Byears with 18 points and Teodora Petrova with 10 points. Dionne Brown finished with double double for the visitors – 24 points and 11 rebounds. Great game by Radostina Slavova as well who ended with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Two players missed the game for Lukoil Neftochimic. American point guard Dee Dee Wheeler left the team in the beginning of the week while center Rositsa Karoleva is having problems with achilles and is doubtful for the season.
