Marinov: "We don't have enough depth on our bench"

Petko Marinov was realistic after his team Lukoil Neftochimic couldn’t defend the title.
“CSKA is a better team. They have the best Bulgarian players and those players will be included in Women National team for the qualifications in the summer. Plus they have couple very good Serbians in the team, especially Tanja Cirov. I knew that we have to play well above our abilities to beat them in the Final. We don't have enough depth on our bench. Most of the players are 18-19 years old and it is too early for them. Congratulation to CSKA, they deserved to win”, said coach Marinov.
“Regarding the new season, I already talked to Valentin Zlatev and he promised to me after the Cup of Bulgaria in Pernik that we will make better team for the new season. It will be helpful also if we play in European competitions as some players refuse to come to our team this year as we didn’t play there”, continue Marinov.
“There is lot of interest in women’s basketball in our country. In Rouse they are working well, in Stara Zagora they have a good squad, in Samokov Lepichev is building the new team, so I think overall women’s basketball in Bulgaria is improving. However we need more sponsors and lift the quality of the teams”, ended Petko Marinov.
