Women’s senior team of Bulgaria started the best way qualifications for Eurobasket 2007 in Italy. The players of coach Georgi Bojkov defeat Hungary by 66-52 in front of 1000 fans in "Stomana" Hall in Pernik.

Bulgarians runaway from their opponents in the beginning of second quarter. Until the end they controlled the tempo and even had a chance to get bigger win.

The best scorer for Bulgaria was their most experienced player – Albena Branzova. 192 cm tall center came from the bench and scored 16 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in only 21 minutes of play. Milena Tomova added 11 points, 4 steals and 4 rebounds while Teodora Petrova scored only 10 points but she managed two very important 3-pointers in the second half. For Hungary Timea Beres anded qith 17 points and 8 rebounds.

This coming Saturday in Hungary same team play against Israel who had a day off in the first round. Only the winner from this group will qualify for additional tournament before the start of Eurobasket 2007 in Italy.
