Rilski Sportist are at the semi-finals for the Bulgarian Women's Cup

The women’s team of Rislki Sportist qualified for the semi-finals of the Bulgarian Cup for the first time in their history. Earlier today Ivan Lepichev’s players beat Slavia 85-79 in the third decisive game from their series, in front of 500 spectators at “Arena Samokov”.
The hosts controlled the game and were ahead in the score all the time. The guest, on their side, managed to stay close enough to keep the intrigue and even cut the lead to 2 points (71-73) with less than 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for Slavia, from that moment on the hosts took the initiative and scored 10 unanswered points, deciding the game.
In spite of her many misses from the free-throw line (7/14) and making 4 personal fouls, Agnesa Doychinova once again was the corner stone of Rilski’s success. She scored 35 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Galina Stancheva also played well for the hosts and finished with 19 points, adding 4 rebounds and 6 assists. All the points for Rilski Sportist were scored by the girls from the starting line-up.
For the guests Hristina Deyanova scored 17 points and Stefka Nikolova added 13.
After the victory Rilski Sportist qualified among the four best teams at this year’s edition of the tornament. On Monaday they are facing one of the favourites – Dunav Ekont. The game is at “Arena Samokov”, which is going to host the Final Four for the Bulgarian Women’s Cup. In the other semi-final Lukoil Neftohimik is playing against Beroe 07.
