Slovenia have named former star player Jure Zdovc as the new coach of the national team.
Zdovc takes over from Ales Pipan, who guided Slovenia at the last two EuroBaskets, the 2006 FIBA World Championship and this summer's FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Memi Becirovic, Aleksandar Dzikic and Sasa Filipovski had also been considered for the post.
A press conference was held on Tuesday in Ljubljana where Zdovc spoke to the media.
Slovenia, after finishing seventh at EuroBasket 2007 in Madrid, qualified for next year's Final Round in Poland and they will take on Great Britain, Serbia and world champions Spain in Group C.
