Levski defeated Lukoil Academic, now down 1-2

Levski defeated Lukoil Academic at home 86-74 in the Finals of Bulgarian championship. "The Blues" had a very difficult game but managed to win and the Lukoil's lead in the series to 1-2. The next game is on Thursday. If Levski wins the series will be tied and if Lukoil wins the team will be the champion.

Levski took an early lead but the visitors tied the game at 15. However until the end of the quarter the hosts went up once again and led 28-19 at the end of it behind 4 three-pointers by Donald Cole. In the second quarter the hosts built a double digit lead and kept it for most of the time. Lukoil managed ti cut the deficit ot 5 but Levski was up 48-39 after the first half.

The visitors started better after the break and cut ti difference to two points. The Levski pulled away once again but Lukoil came back in the game and cut it to 1. Cole scored two free throws to make it 65-62 after three quarters. Levski managed to pull away early in the last quarter and in the middle of it was up by 10 points. From here on the visitors started making a lot of mistakes and "The Blues" had no problems in keeping its lead until the end.

Stefan Georgiev had very good game for the winners with 21 points and 8 rebounds. The Americans Donald Cole, Aaron Harper and Bobby Frasor scored 20, 18 and 15 respectively.

For the visitors Chavdar Kostov and Todor Stoykov had 17 points apiece as Willie Deane added 15.
