BC Levski is the new champion of Bulgaria. The Blues ended the run of 11 straight titles of Lukoil Academic after winning Game 5 81-69. Their last title in the NBL was won back in 2001.
A 14-0 run by Levski in the first quarter gave the team a 9-point lead. In the second the advantage went up to 16 and after both teams exchanged runs the difference stayed the same. From that point on Levski controlled the game as Lukoil closed the gap to 7 points in the last quarter but couldn′t do more.
Lionel Chalmers had 20 points for the win as Brandon Heath added 18. For Lukoil Jure Lalic scored 17 and added 11 boards and Bozhidar Avramov netted 16.
