Asesoft Ploiesti has made its first roster move to get ready for its ULEB Cup debut in the 2007-08 season by landing center Rashard Griffith, who inked a one-year deal with the perennial Romanian League champion.

Griffith (212, 32) arrives from Pinar Karsiyaka, where he averaged 6.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in 12 Turkish League games last season.
At the prime of his career, Griffith was a dominant big man in European basketball, helping Kinder Bologna to win the Euroleague title in 2001, as well as making it to the title game in 2002. He has also played for Tofas Bursa in Turkey, Maccabi Elite in Israel, Tau Ceramica, Tenerife and Calpe in Spain, Lottomatica Roma in Italy and Capitanes de Arecibo in Puerto Rico. He helped Tofas to win back-to-back Turkish League titles in 1999 and 2000, as well as making it to the 1997 Korac Cup final against Aris. He also won the 2001 Italian League with Kinder, the 1998 Israeli League with Maccabi and the 2005 Puerto Rican League with Arecibo.
