Willie Deane in Turow Zgorzelec

Turow Zgorzelec signed 1-year deal with American scoring machine Willie Deane (186-G-80). The 29-year old PG/SG arrived to Poland from Bulgarian powerhouse Lukoil Academic.

Actually, he started the last season with Zalgiris Kaunas and in January this year joined the team from Sophia. With Lukoil, Deane appeared 15 times in domestic championship averaging 21.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 5 apg and 2.3 spg. Lukoil managed to defend championship title and Deane finished the NBL contest as second best scorer, top assistant and best in steals.

Willie Deane played about 15 games for Zalgiris in the first half of the season with 16.6 ppg in Baltic league, 18 ppg in domestic league and 3.2 rpg in Euroleague. Interesting is that season 2007/08 Deane also helped Lukoil to win championship title in Bulgaria. The team played also in ULEB Cup, where Deane had 18.5 ppg, 4.1 rpg and 6.7 apg.

From 2005 to 2007 Willie Deane was the best scorer in Russia with Spartak Primorie Vladivostok. In the first year he had 16.8 ppg and in the second one 16.1 ppg. In the past he also played for Virtus Bologna, Ionikos and Ilisyakos. He is a product of Purdue University, where he graduated in 2003. In his senior season he had 17.3 ppg.
