Fortitudo wrapped up its new-look roster with the signing of Oscar Torres, who arrives from Euroleague finalist CSKA Moscow. Torres (195, 31) signed a one-year deal with a team-option for a second season.
The Venezuelan swingman joined CSKA last February, helping the team get within one win of a second straight Euroleague title. In 10 games with the Russian powerhouse, he averaged 8.7 points and 4.6 rebounds, shooting 48% from downtown.
Torres arrived to CSKA from Khimki, where he played since 2004. In his first season there, he scored 13.4 points and grabbed 6.3 rebounds in 43 Russian league games. Last year he put up 9.1 points per game in 11 ULEB Cup appearances before switching sides. New Fortitudo head coach Andrea Mazzon wanted to reunite with Torres after they worked together at Napoli during the 2003-2004 campaign, a season the player ended with 14.7 points per game in the Italian league. Torres also has experience in the NBA, playing for the Houston Rockets in 2001 and the Golden State Warriors in 2002.
