A blue hurricane went through Botevgrad. After one close first quarter, nobody in front of the TV or in the hall expected exactly this game to turn around in a way like that. Thanks to their terrific defense, Levski smashed the opposition and that was Balkan's biggest loss for the season. They didn't lose with that difference even to Lukoil Academic. In the end it was 29 points for Levski (86-57) but in some moments it was over 30.

Levski's win gives them advantage in the battle for the second place. They already have two wins against their direct opposition, and only one loss. There's one more game between the two teams before the end of the regular season, and it's in Sofia. Besides having more wins, the Blues have much better point difference in the direct games.

Lubomir Minchev's players did exactly what their coach said and with tight defense and perefct fastbreak they overcame the home side in the second and third period of the game. Both coaches gave chance to some of their younger players in the last 10 minutes.

Dwayne Morton and Pavle Bolkovac were the only two players from Balkan to finish in double digits - both of them had 12 points. Balkan's players shot terrible from 3-point land (2/20 - 10%) and from the free-throw line (15/26 - 58%). They also had less rebounds - 24 for Balkan against 38 for Levski.

Stanislav Slaveykov was the best player for the guest team with 21 points, and Yulian Radionov scored a season-high 14 points. Stefan Georgiev had 14 too, as he added 9 rebounds. Rob Preston was the team's best addition from the bench, finishing with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Levski does not have any time for celebrations as they are hosting Lukoil Academic in Sofia on Friday. Balkan is playing away from home - at Pleven on Saturday.
